Bio

I’m a PhD student in the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. I use computational text analysis to study social factors such as identity, power, and influence. My dissertation investigates how people use language to represent their own identities and those of others in social media and online narrative. This work combines methods from natural language processing and machine learning with theories from sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and the social sciences.
