I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the Collaboratory Against Hate and IDeaS Center at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Kathleen M. Carley and David West Brown. In my research, I use computational text analysis to study social factors such as identity, power, and influence. I currently focus on computational approaches to countering hate speech and online extremism.

In 2021, I finished my PhD in the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, advised by Carolyn Penstein Rosé. My dissertation investigated how people use language to represent their own identities and those of others in social media and online narrative.

My work combines methods from natural language processing, network science, and machine learning with theories from linguistics and the social sciences. I research within the fields of computational social science, computational linguistics, and digital humanities.
